It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when businesses take responsibility beyond their core mission - and use their success to lift others up.
As long-standing partners of Licht ins Dunkel, both BWT Group and Windhager BHT Group were honored to contribute once again to an initiative, that has been supporting disadvantaged children, families, and people with disabilities across Austria for more than 50 years. The organization provides essential social services, funding for therapeutic programs, support for inclusive projects, and immediate assistance for those in urgent need.
This year, the charity’s spirit of inclusion came to life in an extraordinary way: A team of athletes and celebrities with and without disabilities, sponsored by BWT and Windhager, took on the twelve-hour “Challenge für Licht ins Dunkel” - pushing themselves on the treadmill, bike, handbike, and rowing machine.
Together, they raised an incredible €89,548. Thank you Cornelia "Conny" Kreuter, Walter Ablinger, PLY, Theresa Grath, Moritz Uhl, and Alexander Eder for your perseverance in the “BWT and Windhager” team, covering 223 kilometers in twelve hours by running, cycling, rowing, and handcycling.
At the gala that evening, BWT CEO Andreas Weißenbacher made a heartfelt commitment to go even further — more than doubling the team’s achievement and bringing the donation to a total of €250,000.
Moments like this show, what corporate engagement can achieve: more visibility, more inclusion, and more real impact for people who need it most.
