Balou Salo

2025, January: Balou Salo is a charity organisation that is committed for enabling access to clean drinking water in Senegal. In collaboration with BWT's Senegalese subsidiary PMI, the construction of a well in Baghere was initiated.
.
A rural region that is the least developed in the country and where the level of iron is too high. Therefore, expectations and hopes among the population were high concerning this tap.
Construction included a technical room with a solar system. Based on microbiological and physicochemical analyses, a BWT Ecosoft system was installed, which removes the too high iron content in the water. With the new filter system, the drinking water now meets WHO standards and so two villages and 3,700 residents benefit from this new drinking water installation.
